Posted the photos on Instagram and Facebook, there are so many likes and comments asking how this can be made.

So, here I am, with a recipe to share

We shall usher into the year of sheep with a troop of sheep!

These are actually made using German Cookie Recipe.

Makes about 50 sheep

125g Unsalted Butter (soften at room temperature)
40g of Icing Sugar (sifted)
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
125g Potato Starch
80g Plain Flour
Hersey Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
Roasted Black Sesame

Preheat Oven: 150deg (top and bottom with fan)
In a mixing bowl: Beat Butter and Icing Sugar until light and fluffy
Add Vanilla Extract, continue to beat until well combined

Sift in Potato Starch & Plain Flour
Using a Spatula, mix and fold into soft dough
Chill the dough for 10 mins in the fridge if the dough is too soft to handle

Roll out the dough and form into 1 big ball (sheep body) and 2 smaller balls (for the fur)

Place the 2 small balls (side by side) on top of the big ball,
use a toothpick to press gently on the 2 small balls
Place 2 sesame seeds below the 2 small balls (for the eyes)
Tuck the Hersey Chocolate chips by the side of the 2 small balls (ears)

Line baking tray with baking paper and place the sheep onto the tray
ps, please leave some space in between the sheep to prevent them from sticking together while in the oven

Place in the oven for about 12-15 mins

Ensure that the sheep are cooled before keeping them in the container as they will break easily.

Simple recipe for the CNY

Till the next
